Jenn Bailey is a native Rhode Islander. She received a degree in Film and Broadcasting with an emphasis in Screenwriting from Boston University’s esteemed College of Communication. She started her Social Media consulting company, The Social Lites, in 2008 after spending time as a professional blogger. She is a founding member of the Social Media Club of Kansas City and was elected as the group’s first Advocacy Chair. She has presented Twitter, Facebook, blogging and branding at the LA and NYC National SCBWI Conferences and has led social media and writing workshops for non-profit organizations, businesses, and authors’ groups.
Jenn has been a graphic artist, editor, and managing editor for a team that produced marketing materials and client deliverables for an international consulting company in San Francisco. She has also taught art and creative writing for elementary and preschool students in Northern Virginia and Kansas.
Jennifer has a deep interest in photography. This passion has taken her on photographic projects in Canada, Scotland, England, Bermuda and New Zealand as well as the United States. Her last free-lance opportunity involved documenting the University of Michigan’s solar car as it raced across the Australian outback against 41 international teams in the World Solar Car Challenge. The film titled “Continuum: Against All Odds” is an Independent Film Festival award-winner.
Jenn is also a children’s books writer represented by Bookstop Literary Agency and has published various poems and articles. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators as well as Heartland Writers for Kids and Teens. Jennifer is currently working on her first Graphic Novel.
